Streaking

You know, there are some spots in Brooklyn that will absolutely make you think you are a world away….and the arch and fountain at Grand Army Plaza just prove my point.  I took a trip over there this week for an up close look….and I was definitely in good company.

Thank you all so very much for checking out the recent Thrift Shopping Haul Videos!  I have been getting some recent requests to show some Outfit of the Day Posts with all my finds, so I thought I’d incorporate this polka dot Anne Klein silk blouse from my most recent haul with a paint streaked Club Monoco skirt from another trip and some of my other items.

I know we are all busy getting from once place to another, but as the weather heats up….take some time out of your busy day to sit in the park, take a walk, and just enjoy nature.  Because when Winter rolls around once more…you’ll be glad you did.

Snake Skin Print and a Bit of Edge

Hey guys, so over the past several months I’ve been eyeing some animal print skinny jeans from both Gap and Current/Elliott.  Only I couldn’t justify to myself why I needed to spend well over a $100 bucks for a pair of jeans that are too distinctive to be a staple pair I could get away with wearing a couple times a week.

You see…overall I strongly believe in investing in quality pieces to extend the life of your wardrobe.  But every now again it’s worth checking out more affordable retailers that may be in your neighborhood, like Rainbow or Dr. Jay’s (where I got theses jeans)….to try out some trendy or more disposable items, for less.  That’s why I jumped at the chance to try these snake skin print skinny jeans when I found them the other day (a pair of neon yellow ballet flats in the window originally drew me into the store)….that way if you get something and you don’t like it, it’s not the end of the world. So, while I didn’t wind up getting those flats…I do think these $15 snake skin print skinny jeans are a great alternative to the costly designer animal print ones I passed up 🙂

What’s a trend you want to try, but don’t want to invest the money on?

Outfit:
Jacket >< Yaya Aflalo (I used a coupon on ebay and got it for only $14)
