We know that colors like emerald green have been on heavy rotation this year, but as we hunker down into fall cobalt blue has found its way into mainstream fashion. We saw Sandra Bullock wearing all blue to the premier of her new flick The Heat. And it’s not just celebrities doing the blues, Victoria Beckman, DKNY, Moschino, and Lacoste all had cobalt blue crushes in their collections for their Fall/Autumn 2013 shows. You will soon see cobalt blue everywhere, cosmetics, interiors, clothes, and accessories, so get ready!
It is easy to adopt the cobalt blue trend by simply looking at thrifty stores for royal blue accessories or a simple pair of royal blue jeans will do the trick. What about grandma’s old earrings with royal blue in it, they will be a perfect addition to your outfit for that pop of blue crush color. Cobalt blue is defiantly a classic choice and is super easy to wear. Mix creme, a metallic, or gray with cobalt blue and you will have a striking combo. Philo at Celine is a cobalt blue advocate and believes it looks fresh, yet so strong. And we can’t forget the Issa dress Kate Middleton wore for the announcement of her engagement to Prince William. You can’t deny it, cobalt blue is the colour everyone loves!

Want to try something a little different with your hair? Style your mane this season with the hottest trend, the headband. This cool accessory will certainly keep your hair in place but it will also show off your fashionsta side. Hollywood’s leading ladies have been spotted wearing headbands, everyone from Kourtney Kardashian to Kerry Washington, and they have all got themselves a stylish head piece and so should you. Nicole Ritchie and bohemian babes at Cochella have been wearing headbands for years and this trend has now hit the runways in Paris. Marc by Marc Jacobs, Naeem Kahn, Louis Vutton and Erin Fetherston has all sent their models down the catwalk with stylish headbands. Whether you’ve got long or short hair, a stylish headband is a must accessory this season!
Metallic bands were on donned by the models at the Naeem Kahn show, and are actress Eva Medas’ favorite; and turban were all the rave at the Marc by Marc Jacobs show. I know what you’re thinking….that you don’t want to look like a schoolgirl in these headbands; but, matching the colors in your outfit, you are sure to look like a fashionista instead.

Hey guys, hope you had a wonderful week — one filled hopefully with love and lots of sweets As I mentioned in yesterday’s post, I was super excited to see in print my feature in the March 2013 issue of Instyle Magazine with Rachel Weisz, Michelle Williams, and Mila Kunis on the cover. Over the Thanksgiving break, I was inspired to fearlessly mix a couple prints and dust off my silver tights after reading this issue. So…I perused my closet before I left New York, grabbed my dad while on a visit home, and we trekked out for some sunny streets for some shots. I couldn’t be more pleased with how it turned out. To see the outfits up close…check them out here and here. If you happen to pick it up, please feel free to Instagram, Facebook, Pin or Tweet me a pic of you with it — would love to see it! Or if you’d just like to do a drive-by at the newsstand….I’m on page 138 Hope you like! xoxo, Brandhyze
