Polka Dots and Pinstripes

Posted on 18 May 2012 by frugal-nomics

They say it never rains in Southern California….well with my upcoming trip just on the horizon….I’m certainly hoping that’s true. I’m really looking forward to it….and am looking forward to sharing it with you.

Now a couple of years ago I wouldn’t have dared mix and match pinstripes and polka dots….I mean afterall it was way easier to just snag a complimentary solid color and call it a day.  You see…I always secretly admired people who could blend patterns effortlessly and get away with it….but thought my “eye” for it just didn’t naturally gravitate to it and hadn’t ever been developed.  Well wrong I was!

Not only can you mix pinstripes and polka dots, but also stripes of varying widths.  And as I did here, throw in some animal print for good measure and you are good to go. Because afterall, the animal print takes on a neutral color’s qualities.  So mix it, match it….do whatever you like.  I mean, because afterall, if you fall short….tomorrow is a new day.
