I’ve become quite the regular at the Housing Works BUY THE BAG Warehouse Sale. I partook in yet another trip on December 17th, and even had a couple more friends join me on the journey. Thrifting is a lot more fun when you can share it 🙂
This black sweater with the cutout sleeves was one I immediately fell in love with….I’ve never owned anything like it. It didn’t come with a label, so unfortunately I don’t know who the designer is, but it’s super trendy…and anything with a high collar is a keeper in my book. The tobacco colored Zara corduroy blazer I thought would look great paired with my riding boots.
I was able to get a couple basics of from the Theory brand; like these shorts and khakis, and this cute little zig-zag line skirt with pockets are my homage to Missoni since I didn’t take part in the Target mayhem. These bootcut jeans turned out to be a miss due to the fact I had to turn the thighs into scrapnal to get them on….and the tiered skirt I’m confident will look great when the weather dictates it.
I hadn’t invested in bubble vests much before, but when you’re getting things for .89 cents/piece, you’re able to experiment in ways you wouldn’t normally. The fuchsia and ruffled tops were things I just threw in the bag for good measure, and the Brooks Brothers pinstripe button down will look fab with the sleeves rolled up and jeans, or just a pencil skirt.
While I don’t think my Marc Jacobs bag is authentic (but I’m not complaining, because I still got my authentic Louis Vuitton from an earlier trip), it’s a dead ringer for the original and has become my everyday bag. The pillow cover I grabbed because I occassionally do room makeovers on a budget for friends, so I couldn’t pass it up.
Another day…another bag of fashion. I keep this up…at this rate there are going to be clothes up to the rafters in my little studio 🙂 but…then, there are worse problems to have.
