So last week I took the opportunity to check out the Housing Works in downtown Brooklyn. Now, what started out as a trip just to check out that location, turned into me forcing myself to leave before I purchased anything other than the must-have Love racer-back tank with gold sequins that I just couldn’t put down (between you and I…I would have grabbed the never-been-worn Steve Madden purple suede ballet flats I eyed the moment I came in the door, but they were too big even to justify snagging).
Already patting myself on the proverbial back for having such a savvy shopping eye, you can understand my increased delight when told by a friend that recently the 6 month pregnant star, Beyonce (and now I’ve noticed both Taylor Swift and Kelly Rowland too) was spotted in a similar Wildfox Couture $178 top heading into an office building in New York City.
Since we’re well into Fall, to compliment my shiny new tank, I paired it with a black blazer with rolled cuffs (which I live in these days). This too is another thrift purchase I found as a substitute for my tailored black suit jacket , as not to ruin it. So my entire outfit you see here is a thrifty find. I’m a witness…if you’re willing to put in a little effort there’s no limit to the new looks you can create. Whether inspired by the runway, a look on the street, or the pages of your favorite magazine….there’s always an opportunity to find the LOOK for LESS.
